Ann Ewing has over 23 years of experience in residential rental real estate. After graduating with honors from Dartmouth College, she earned an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School and has extensive business management experience. As a master gardener, she brings landscaping and gardening expertise as well.
Our Story
Our initiative to enhance communities by providing quality homes is rooted in the life experiences of our founders, Ann and Frank Ewing, and their parents. On September 11, 2001, while in New York, they were inspired to create a better world amidst tragedy. Both of our founders are from families with deep military backgrounds, having witnessed devastation of war firsthand. Frank's father, a Sherman tank operator during World War II, dedicated his life to promoting peace, emphasizing that “we cannot solve problems with bullets.” Meanwhile, Ann's father fought bravely in Belgium and narrowly escaped death from a German tank shell, which struck nearby after he had disabled the tank with a bazooka. In 2001, after witnessing the aftermath of the attacks, Frank and Ann relocated Jackson, Tennessee, where they established Better World Enterprises. They began with a single property on Westwood Avenue, focusing on providing affordable, healthy living options and promoting a purposeful lifestyle. Despite skepticism about their venture in a tobacco state, they have acquired and rehabilitated numerous properties over the years. As they approach the twentieth anniversary in 2021, Better World Enterprises is now integrating solar and cost-saving practices, proving that doing good is also good business.
